Rabbit Hole Distilling, founded by Kaveh Zamanian, is located in Louisville, Kentucky. Rabbit Hole uses locally sourced grains and flame-charred barrels from Louisville’s Kelvin Cooperage. Their Kentucky Straight Rye has a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. The rye is distilled and aged for at least 2 years in toasted and charred new American oak (char #3) in Kentucky before being bottled at 47.5% ABV. Note: This product has been rebranded as of September 2019 as Rabbit Hole “Boxergrail” Kentucky Straight Rye. The juice remains the same, only the packaging and name differ.
Rabbit Hole Straight Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Cinnamon-forward nose with notes of licorice, spicy pepper and earthy wood.
Palate: Light fruity flavors with notes of spices and caramel.
Finish: Long and warm finish with spicy and herbal background.
