Jamaican rum from the Plantation range, made with a blend of spirits from the Long Pond and Clarendon distilleries, matured in bourbon casks for 12 years before moving over to Ferrand Cognac casks for a year before bottling.
Plantation Jamaica 2005 Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense aroma of peaty smoke, wood spices and Earl Gray tea.highly aromatic rum leads with overripe banana, followed by leather, spice, and molasses.
Palate: Fruity esters and a touch of sweetness, but without the viscosity of added sugar.
Finish: The finish is more tobacco, spice, and citrusy grapefruit.
Distillery information
The 1990s see Alexandre Gabriel combing the Caribbean in search of the best rums of the region. Plantation is born: an artisanal range of rums from the great terroirs of the tropics. Fifteen years of dedicated rum-making later, in 2012, Alexandre is awarded Master Blender in the “World’s Best” rum awards, wins the prestigious GOLDEN BARREL AWARD and was named Distiller of the Year by THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE.
