This 100% agave añejo tequila is aged in small American oak barrels for 18 to 36 months. Meaning ‘the greatest’ in Spanish, El Mayor is made at the Gonzãlez family-owned distillery under the supervision of Rodolfo Gonzãlez. Each bottle of El Mayor is individually numbered.

El Mayor Añejo is produced from 100% estate-grown Blue Weber agave harvested in Jalisco. The agaves are cooked in an autoclave rather than an oven and the cooked agaves are shredded with a mill rather than a tahona. Twice distilled in copper-lined pot stills, it is bottled at 80 proof after 18-36 months in American oak.

Nose: Caramel, lavender, agave, vanilla and white pepper.
Palate: Clove, black pepper and cinnamon spiced oak, flambéed banana, flamed orange zest and grilled tropical fruits.
Finish: Black pepper, clove, cinnamon and sweet caramel.
