Balcones Bottled In Bond Texas Rye Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Candied fennel, and spruce tips before cooling notes of melted mint chip ice cream and raspberry glaze.
Palate: On the palate, it begins with graham cracker crust, dark chocolate espresso bean, and cardamom before well-articulated notes of carrot frond, cedar chest, and apricot preserves.
Finish: Nutella and blackberry jam on rye toast linger for the finale.
Distillery Information
Balcones was founded in 2008 and began distilling in 2009. The original distillery, built mostly by hand, existed until 2015. In early 2016, the building that had long served as a barrel warehouse became the new home of Balcones.
