Tequila: Partida Añejo
This añejo tequila is differentiated from others in the Partida range by its rust coloured neck label and ‘spirit bird’ insignia. It is aged for eighteen months in French-Canadian oak barrels previously used to age Jack Daniel’s whiskey.

Partida is a brand that’s known for being hands on in all aspects of production from growing their own agave to bottling. They use mature agave that’s 7-10 years old before it’s picked, and aged in stainless steal ovens to avoid the soot from stone ovens that can affect the taste of the tequila. The añejo is aged 18 months in ex-Jack Daniels barrels.
Partida Añejo Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: Slightly smoky, nutty nose with hints of maraschino cherry, ripe pear and oxidised, overripe pineapple.
Palate: Very smooth with slightly woody, vanilla, caramel and Brazil/walnut notes. The initial experience is more akin to a mellow cognac than tequila thanks to the rich vanillins from the oak but agave notes emerge and build through the palate.
Finish: Long, mellow, vanilla-ed finish. The pleasant subtle hints of tropical fruit last the distance.
