Whiskey: Michter’s US*1 Limited Release Toasted Barrel Finish Rye
The follow-up to the massively popular toasted barrel finish bourbon – this time, Michter’s has created a limited-edition rye, bottled at cask strength.
Size: 750ML
Proof: 108 (54% ABV)
Origin: United States
Distillery: Michter’s Distillery
This Kentucky straight rye is made by taking Michter’s US*1 Single Barrel Rye at barrel strength and finishing it in a secondary barrel. These finishing barrels are made from 24 month air-dried staves. The barrels were toasted, not charred. As the rye whiskey is bottled at cask strength, the proof will vary. On average, it is 108 proof. This limited release is hitting shelves beginning September 2017.

Distillery Information
Bomberger’s Distillery, more recently Michter’s Distillery, is a non-operating distillery facility that was, at the end of the twentieth century, believed to be the oldest remaining such building in the United States. The distillery closed in 1989 and may have since been demolished. Although there are whiskey products currently on the market using the Bomberger’s and Michter’s brand names, they are more recently introduced products that have no direct connection to the old distillery.
