Koloa Dark Rum is made from the mash of raw Cane Sugar, distilled in an impressive vintage 1210 gallon steam powered copper pot still and cut with filtered water from the ancient Mount Waialeale.
Koloa Kauai Dark Hawaiian Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Robustly vanilla nose with notes of dark semi-sweet chocolate, fresh brewed espresso and chocolate cupcakes.
Palate: Robust flavors of vanilla, dark semi-sweet chocolate.
Finish: light finished with espresso.
Distillery Information
Koloa Rum Company produces single-batch Hawaiian rums with locally sourced ingredients at their distillery near the town of Kalaheo, on the south side of the beautiful Garden Isle of Kauai. All of our rums are distilled twice using their vintage 1,210-gallon copper-pot still with a copper column and condenser. This still was built by Liberty Coppersmiths in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1947 and refurbished for use at the distillery.
