Evan Williams Single Barrel 2011 Bourbon Whisky Tasting Notes
Nose: Aromas of sweet caramel, biscuits, vanilla and toasted marshmallow.
Palate: On the palate, aged oak is most evident, complemented by more caramel, cinnamon and a hint of pepper.
Finish: Finishing up with prickles of peppery warmth.
Distillery Information
Williams saw opportunity, and in 1783, built his distillery on the banks of the Ohio River, distilling whiskey from purchased corn surpluses on the East side of what is now 5th Street. It is said to have been the first commercial distillery in Kentucky, shipping barrels by flatboat down the Ohio River.
