Amrut, the Sanskrit word for “nectar of the gods,” was established a year after India claimed independence from the United Kingdom. Since 1948, they have mainly been producing whiskies, but also release limited edition rums such as this rum distilled from 100% indian sugarcane.
Amrut Old Port Deluxe Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: Fallen starfruit and banana chew, guanabana, asiago rind, and dried lime.
Palate: Vanilla caramel chew and dried cherries, orange flower water and Cheetos, chocolate wafer cookie, and spumoni.
Finish: A sweet and candied rum with a hint of funk.
