Distillery Information
The Old Bushmills distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, is the world’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, with a grant to distill dating back to 1608. The license was granted to Sir Thomas Phillips by King James I, along with lands in the area. The whiskeys have done well in competition, particularly the Black Bush, and the distillery has the distinction of featuring both on a banknote and in James Joyce’s classic modernist novel Ulysses.
